Greenhouse film is the most part of greenhouse cultivation. While, it's soft and flimsy, and easy to be damaged by tough steel frame, especially the parts in contact with the steel tube, spring sock wire and channel bundle. Under the influence of wind, the greenhouse film will sway and rub more where it contacts the frame. Lifespan of greenhouse film will be extend if well protected by some tapes. It's widely used in blueberry greenhouses/polytunnels.

Quick release tape, or called greenhouse film protection tape is made of high strength but soft plastic with green/blue/white color. It's ideal medium to protect the film at two end of commercial polytunnel. Sharp edges at the surface of the polytunnel steel tube are therefore covered over, protecting polytunnel film against injury and preventing high temperature burns damage from greenhouse steel tube. This protection tape has a certain thickness and elasticity, which not only allows the omega tension clip to hold the film closer, but also absorb the direct grip strength from the clip so that the film will not be scratched.

When the greenhouse film is directly exposed to sunlight, the point where polytunnel film connect with greenhouse steel tube will be high temperature, max 80degrees celsius, so this greenhouse film in these part will be easy to aging and easy breaking when meet bad weather. So a cushion tape is very necessary here between steel tube and film to protect film. The shade netting accelerate the aging of greenhouse film if shade netting cover the greenhouse film, this is why shade netting can't be cover on greenhouse film directly.

In some special situation, the farmer need to pull off the greenhouse film quickly, while the soft film are all griping by omega clips with a strong strength, it’s very easy to damage film if pull off the film directly. While farmers can pull off the high strength protection tape directly, when omega clips fly away, greenhouse film will slide away from steel tube without damaging. The tape are made of polyester fabric and strength enough to hold the griping strength from Omega clips. And the tape is also help to extend the lifespan of greenhouse film.
